Vancouver, Abbotsford, and Surrey played host to a collection of Frature, Short, Documentary and Animated films from South Asia October 31 to November 4, 2012. It was the first such festival of its kind in Canada and carried the mission to Entertain, Engage, Embrace, Educate and Inspire.
David Sidoo connected with influential Indian actress and politician Jaya Bachchan at the South Asian Film Festival on November 1, 2012 in Vancouver. Bachchan has starred in dozens of films since the 1960s and is also a member of the Indian Parliament. She is married to legendary film actor Amitabh Bachchan.
