As many followers of this blog will know, David Sidoo is a distinguished member of the UBC Thunderbird Football Alumni and a member of the UBC Board of Governors. Further, David is a key individual in the 13th Man Foundation, which supports the UBC T-Birds football team in countless ways and no doubt contributed to the team’s successful Cinderella drive to the Vanier Cup victory last season.

Not to be left out of the excitement of the T-Birds’ 2016 Vanier Cup victory, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau met with T-Birds quarterback and Vanier Cup MVP Michael O’Connor along with David Sidoo, Manjy Sidoo and Jordan Sidoo on May 18th, 2016 in Ottawa. Their collective focus: celebrating the coveted Vanier Cup trophy!

As the calendar creeps toward the start of the T-Bird’s championship title-defending season, the excitement and momentum of their Vanier Cup victory continues!

David & Manjy Sidoo Support Hungry Families in Need

Manjy SidooWhen the Vancouver Sun approached the Sidoos for help sponsoring food for 25 poverty-stricken families in the North Surrey area, David didn’t hesitate to write a cheque for $10,000. The money, part of David and Manjy’s $30000 contribution to the Vancouver Sun’s Adopt-a-School Campaign, went directly toward providing emergency food deliveries to the 25 families in need.

“We can’t leave families hungry like this,” said David after learning that one family was in such dire straits that they had just one onion to eat between them all.

Sidoo Family Giving has contributed more than $122,000 to Vancouver area elementary school food and meal programs since 2008.
